About The Otherkin Community
The Otherkin Community was founded in early January 2006 by Clodaus and exists as a non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of metaphysical sciences and spread of Otherkin culture. Initially, the Community was created primarily as a haven to all those who consider themselves to be Otherkin - an escape from the ridicule of the outside world. The site also provided some information on other metaphysical sciences, such as metaphysical abilities, including telekinesis and sensory abilities such as telepathy. Since then, the goals of the Community have changed drastically. While we do still provide a haven for Otherkin, our vision has shifted. We no longer provide blind information based primarily off of belief. Our goal is to spread the Otherkin culture and information on metaphysics by providing articles and resources of reputable information on the various topics. Such information will be gathered through research and third parties. The Otherkin Community will also allow the spread of belief-oriented practices so long as they are not conveyed as fact, allowing the spread of the culture itself. This organizational website is currently under construction. The Community's daughter project, OtherkinCommunity.net contains discussion forums and provides a haven for Otherkin - an area we encourage you to visit for any information you need until this site gets on the road. The organizational website (now merged with OtherkinWiki) exists for the purpose of developing accurate and credible reference material for Otherkin and Metaphysical sciences (further goals will be outlined in the future). Any member of The Otherkin Community is able to create and contribute to the articles. The OtherkinWiki seeks to provide accurate information on the topics presented. Therefore, we have strict guidelines for articles, which can be found on the Help:Editing page. These guidelines are designed to enforce progression, not limit what members have to contribute. Members can easily contribute any uncited information so long as they clearly mark it as opinion or theory. Anyone can read the articles posted within this wiki. You may start by searching for an article, or viewing the categories via the links above or on the left. If you would like to contribute, you may open an OtherkinCommunity.net account via the link in the upper-right hand corner of your screen.
